Access control is the ability to control and record who is coming and going or who attempted to come and go from a particular area. Readers and credentials are typically used for this purpose. Readers can be controlled by cards or by biometrics such as fingerprint readers. Integrating access control with video is often included in the solution. The reporting capability of the system either attempted or granted is of critical importance to the owner or security manager.
